Time Management and ITV Ventures: Prioritize Your Daily Actions

Many people have trouble fitting everything they would like to do into each day. Modern life can be pretty demanding when it comes to keeping up with our professional and personal commitments, never mind putting some hours aside for leisure time.

However, with a little forethought and a little structure you can make much better use of your time. The secret is to identify what really needs to be done in each day. If you look closely at how you spend your days you will probably find that there are many things that aren't really that important. You need to do whatever it takes to ensure that these never get in the way of the things that really need to be done.

So, at the beginning of each day or even the night before you need to sit down and think about what needs to be achieved from your day. I encourage you to write down the things that must be achieved and you could also make a list of things of lesser importance that maybe you would like to do, but aren't essential.

You need to prioritize the most important things you need to do and schedule them in as the first things you need to do in the day. This is a good idea for two reasons. First, it is good to get the important things done first. Second, you are likely to be more focused and energetic first thing in the day.

The important thing is that you do not allow any interruptions to get in the way of what really needs to be done. Once these tasks have been completed you can then think about other things you may want to do with your remaining time in a more relaxed manner.

How to Become Rich!

I’m sure you’re wondering (like I used to) how to become rich. First, what does rich mean? Well, it could mean rich in time, rich in family closeness, and, of course, financially free. But how do you actually achieve this lofty goal?

Here are a few ways...

1. Inherit a fortune – for the most part, this is a matter of luck in that you either have to be born into a family with a rich relative who will leave you their fortune or you have to encounter and befriend a wealthy person who is childless and decides to leave you their fortune. Both of these are long shots.

2. Win the Lottery – this is every sucker's dream, but frankly, the odds of meeting and befriending a childless stranger are probably greater than winning any lotteries. As for the lottery, a mathematician demonstrated that your chances of winning the lottery by purchasing a ticket are statistically only slightly (VERY slightly) greater than your chances of finding a winning ticket on the ground that someone else bought and lost. Besides, most lottery winners are broke and worse off financially within a few years.

3. Be born with a talent in great demand – This one also depends upon luck, but you do have more control and greater chances with this than with numbers 1 and 2 above. Inventory your talents to see what you have and what the market wants – athletes, singers, and entertainers are currently hot commodities. Then work very hard at developing your talent and you just might make that fortune. While it may look easy, when you take time to study the background of the beautiful millionaire model or the athlete making millions throwing a football, you will find that an incredible amount of time and effort went into reaching their present position and the stress of their present fame is usually more than most of us want to have to endure.

4. Develop an Opportunity and Run With it – Get a good education in a hot area, such as IT, web design, nano-technology, etc. Work hard to become a leader in the field and keep watching over your shoulder for the next opportunity in the field. Then, when the opportunity presents itself, throw all of your time, energy, and every cent you can get your hands on to start a company to produce the product or service. If you guessed correctly and the product or service is just what the public wants NOW, you can either go public and make a fortune on the sale of some of your stock or sell it for billions to a company like Google (a la YouTube) or Yahoo. 5. Partner up with an established business – Find a company that will allow you to own your own business, while at the same time, take advantage of their product, their research, their legal team, their customer service, and their advertising. Make sure the compensation plan is structured in a way that will allow you to earn residual income and ask them to send those customers to you! Is there such a creature? You bet there is!

These are the types of services that for the most part provide an ongoing stream of residual income for these companies. 10 Things You Can Do To Be Effective With Your Time

If you find yourself constantly frustrated at the end of the day, with a pile of things that need to be done and wondering why you weren't able to do it, you're not alone. Plenty of people suffer from an inability to make the maximum use of their time, but there is a solution!

By implementing these simple time management tips in every area of your life, you'll be surprised at what you can accomplish – and how quickly things will get done – every day.

1)Know what you want – set goals.Since you can't change time itself, you need to change how you work with time. This can be done by making small personal goals to start with, moving to larger goals as you progress in your time management skills. For example, set a goal to not check your personal email while at work for one week. At the end of the week, evaluate whether you achieved that goal and add another one or try again.

2)Do what you need to – create a plan.This is a more overarching goal, but something that can be implemented as part of a plan for time management success. For example, your plan for trying these time management tips might be to increase your productivity or to lower your stress levels.

3)Learn about yourself – where are you losing time?For a week, track what you do every day. Take note of your activities, how long they took, and even the breaks you take for a personal phone call or for lunch. After a week, look at the areas that took up your time, and evaluate where you wasted time that could have been given over to more productive activities.

4)Use the available tools – write it down.Time management tools are an effective way to give concreteness to your goals and the tasks you need to accomplish. Whether it's through a daytimer or a computer program, physically manage your time by listing the tasks you need to do now and in the future.

5)Keep perspective – prioritize.Each morning, look at the tasks you need to accomplish and prioritize them. Figure out which ones are urgent and which ones can honestly wait if you don't have time for them. Do the important things first – don't put them off, or you'll be stressed and rushed at the end of the day.

6)Keep moving – create a routine.If you have an established routine, you'll be more able to complete your goals each day. When crises arise, move with them and deal with them – but don't let them distract you for the rest of the day. Once you've dealt with the problem, get back on task.

7)Don't dawdle – set time limits.If you only need an hour to check your email, set a timer for an hour until you can get used to that amount of time. A day can be easily wasted on one thing if you let it, so this will ensure that you don't waste extra time surfing around that could be spent on other projects.

8)Ask for help – delegate.You don't need to do it all yourself – no person is an island! Allow others to carry some of the burden for you, but be willing to help them along the way – that way your creative hand is still in the pot. You need to decide to delegate, and then just ask. What's the worst that could happen, someone would say no? It's not the end of the world.

9)Know yourself – don't waste time waiting.Whether it's standing in line at the grocery store, waiting for a doctor's appointment, or even if you're sitting in a lobby waiting for a meeting, realize that you don't need to spend that time waiting. With a task list set out, bring something with you at all times that you can work on – a report to read, a notepad, your checkbook, or your PDA to check your email. Keep moving, keep working on those tasks. Don't let a moment go to waste.

10)Be realistic – don't get discouraged.

If you've set realistic goals and you've followed the tips outlined here, there may still be some days that you just can't get everything done. That's okay! There are only 24 hours in a day, and all you can do is work with them and manage yourself. Time doesn't change – you can, and that's really the best thing you can do. Realize that some days will be successes and others may be a little more disappointing. That's life – and tomorrow is a new day!

Procrastination and ITV Ventures!

I have to be honest; there was a time when I could have been called an expert on this subject - procrastination! I could have written a book about it!

So what are some of the causes of procrastination? Putting off a task because:

• We think it's going to be unpleasant
• We're afraid of failure
• Guilt
• We need to feel safe
• We want to avoid risk
• And, oddly enough, we actually fear succeeding!

Do any of those ring true for you? Uhhhh....YEAH!

So basically, procrastination is caused by fear. Procrastination can pop up in various guises; like indecision - if you can't decide what to do, then you just simply don't have to do it!

Of course, busy-ness...I’m soooo guilty of this! My personal favorite is list making! It could be a list of "to do’s" or a list of plusses and minuses. I mean, you can go on making lists - and lists of lists - endlessly.

Because of procrastination, you can end up waiting for things to work out, and by waiting and not moving forward, you run the risk of having to react to events in your life rather than being in control of them.

What I learned was that when I was procrastinating, I was wasting the present moment by doing absolutely nothing and I got absolutely no results and accomplished nothing.

Obviously, there was a time when you took that first step and looked at ITV Ventures as a business that could have put you into forward motion.

Some may think that the change from paucity or 'the norm' to abundant prosperity is a mysterious and miraculous leap brought on by fate or fortune. It is not. It is, in 99% of the cases, a step-by-step and conscious following of an envisioned and intentional path; it is a proven formula.

The formula is repeated on almost every page of the Prosperity Paradigm Website. It is stated simply as Purpose + Passion + Persistence = Prosperity. It may sound simple. It may even, for most, be something too simple to seem real. It is, however, the path that all those who achieve the prosperity they dream and desire, walk step-by-step.

The lover of math in me likes to define it as 3p=P.

If you critically examine the lives of most people, you will see that they wander through life without (a defined) purpose. It is the rare individual who can tell you in a short paragraph immediately when asked, What is the purpose of your life? Even amongst those who can answer, the response most give is usually some vague and hollow repetition of some assumed or inherited survival, societal or spiritual meme. It is meaningless drivel.

It is the truly rare and almost inevitably successful and happy individual who will be able to state succinctly and definitely what the real and tangible purpose of their life is. Their defined purpose may not seem all that important to you. That matters not a whit. It only matters to that person that it has value; more, that it has an all-consuming importance.

If you do not know what your real (self-assigned) purpose is, then the first and most critical step on your path to real and lasting prosperity (and happiness) is to define your purpose. Only you can do that for yourself. Any purpose assigned to your by parents, peers or societal expectations is false. It will not, therefore, bear the fruit you desire success and fulfillment, i.e. prosperity, which is the having of an abundance of ALL things held ideal in mind and dear in heart.

It may take some critical self-examination and a great deal of personal honesty to arrive at a real, defined sense of purpose for your life. So what? What else are you doing with your life? Are you tired of being just average or unhappy; weary of merely surviving?

Figure out with what purpose you journey through these few short years on planet earth. It is step one in your quest for having a meaningful and purposeful life. You, and only you, must decide and define your purpose. Then go about living your each and every day to fulfill that purpose. It is aptly called being on purpose.

Ah, passion. How we soar when we have it! Remember falling in love and lusting after being with that one truly special person? Passion! How wondrous! How consuming! How addictive! How enlivening! How intense! How fulfilling! How passionate!

The next step in your path to real and lasting prosperity is to become PASSIONATE about your purpose and your moment-by-moment existence.

It is often called a lust for life, but it is more than that. It is a lust for the self-decided purpose of your life, AND, it is an immense gratitude for being blessed with being able to pursue that purpose.Get passionate or stay home. Without passion, life is mediocre. You have already learned that lesson, even if you deny or forget it in order to tolerate some normality or compromise. you have made to get through each day without passion.

Now, here is the tough part for many, many people life will throw you curves, put up road blocks, appear to resist your journey and generally test your resolve. The majority will take these 'obstacles' as proof that they are mistaken in their choice of purpose and passion or that they were not destined to have the level of prosperity they desire. Those who take these 'messages' as lessons or as opportunities to garner more strength will be the ones who succeed. Persistence pays dividends. Huge dividends. Invest in a little persistence.

Although I would like to find a way to say it better, there is no greater quote than that spoken by Calvin Coolidge, "Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent."So there we have it. The simply stated, but not so simply applied, formula for achieving the prosperity you desire 3p=P.So now you know. The only thing holding you back from having your heart's desire is your lack of application of this one formula.

It is your choice. You are totally free to choose a purpose for your life (or not). You are totally free to become passionate about life and your purpose (or not). You are totally free to desist (give up/compromise/take the easy way out) or persist.

Prosperity is a matter of choice, not chance.

Improve Your Personal Time Management In 30 Seconds

One of the keys to getting the most out of your time is developing the ability to ask yourself the right questions at the right time. This need only take a few seconds before you begin any given task. More often than not, you will find these few seconds will present new and better ways of doing what needs to be done.

While it is important to manage your time with calendars, diaries and daily plans, effective time management also requires that you manage yourself.

Before you set about any task, big or small, stop and ask yourself whether this is the best use of your time. Perhaps there are other, better ways of achieving the same result. Or maybe it is a task that you are not particularly suited to that another person could do in half the time, in which case you might want to delegate.

If you do decide to take on the task yourself, ask yourself what is the best way to complete it quickly and easily. It only takes seconds to ask yourself these questions and listen to the answers that come.

As time goes on you will get better at this. One of the most important things to do is to learn how to ask the right questions. In general, your questions should begin with the word 'what'. This focuses your attention and evokes clarity. The remainder of the question needs to ensure that it opens up possibilities, is solution oriented, elicits information and moves you forward. Here are some examples of powerful 'what' questions that would help you focus better on a particular task and make more effective use of your time:

"What is the most important thing for me to focus on at the moment?"
"What would enable me to use my time more effectively?"
"What isn't getting done that needs doing?"
And added to that,
"What will it take to get this done?"
"What is the next step for me in this moment?"

These questions can also be used when considering more long-term goals. For example, "What do I want my life to look like in five years?"

Once you have asked any question you need to take a little time, perhaps one minute, to listen to the response that comes to you. You may find that what comes up in your response is clear enough and you now know the best way forward. However, you may find that your response lacks clarity. It may include all sorts of thoughts and ideas, but no clear way forward. In this case, it can be a good idea to take note of the thoughts that come to you and break the problem down into smaller parts to find the best way forward. You may find there are more specific questions you need to ask.

However, for the smaller tasks in our day-to-day professional and personal lives clear answers usually come quite easily and quickly.
